Leader in Training camp is a registered camp program for youth ages 13-14. The LIT program runs during the 9 weeks of day camp. The program consists of leadership training, and ‘on the job’ experience with senior counsellors. LIT’s participate in all aspects of camp life and prepares the participants to take leadership roles in and out of camp. Many of the successful participants apply to work at camp in the following year. During their time with us, our LIT’s receive extensive leadership training, and “on the job” training in all camp activities. LIT’s will also participate in classic camp activities such as hiking, crafts, sports, games, swimming and more. Their responsibilities will increase until they are able to fully assist the cabin counsellor in all aspects of camp duties.
Duties include:
- Help campers arrive and get ready for the day’s activities.
- Assist in daily activities. LIT’s will rotate through activities to give them a well-rounded experience in teaching, supervising, skills development and interacting with campers.
- Plan and participate in daytime programming.
Campers are provided with lunch and two snacks each day, prepared onsite by our camp chef. All equipment and materials are provided to for games, sports, activities, arts, and crafts.
Day camp times are 9 am to 4pm. Before care available starting at 8am. After care available until 5pm.
